Job Title: Database Architect

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Database Architect/ Administrator with 7+ years of hands-on experience in administering, maintaining, and optimizing PostgreSQL and ClickHouse databases. The ideal candidate will ensure database reliability, performance, and security while supporting development, analytics, and production environments. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, experience with high-availability configurations, and the ability to work collaboratively with application, analytics, and infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities

Database Administration & Maintenance

• Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL and ClickHouse databases in production and non-production environments.

• Perform regular database health checks, capacity planning, and performance monitoring.

• Manage database objects, roles, permissions, and configurations.

Performance Optimization

• Optimize queries, indexes, and database parameters for high-performance workloads.

• Monitor resource utilization and resolve performance bottlenecks.

Backup, Recovery & High Availability

• Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies for PostgreSQL and ClickHouse.

• Configure and maintain replication, clustering, and failover solutions.

Security & Compliance

• Enforce security best practices, including role-based access control and encryption.

• Ensure compliance with data governance and industry regulations.

Troubleshooting & L2 Support

• Provide L2 support for database incidents and service requests.

• Escalate complex issues to L3 while ensuring detailed troubleshooting documentation.

Collaboration & Documentation

• Work closely with developers, data engineers, and BI teams to optimize queries and data structures.

• Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Experience: 7+ years in database administration with expertise in:

  • PostgreSQL administration, configuration, and tuning.

  • ClickHouse setup, optimization, and operations.

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong SQL and scripting skills (Bash, Python).

  • Experience with database monitoring tools (pgAdmin, pganalyze, Grafana, Zabbix).

  • Familiarity with cloud-hosted databases (AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure Database, ClickHouse Cloud).

  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT integration and analytical workloads.
