Role Purpose

The Microsoft Program Architect provides enterprise-level architecture leadership and governance across the entire transformation programme—not merely individual projects. The role ensures that all workstreams follow a consistent, scalable, secure, and Microsoft-aligned architecture.

Experience Profile

• 18–20+ years of overall technology and architecture experience.

• Demonstrated enterprise architecture oversight across large, multi-workstream programmes.

• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure data and cloud-transformation programmes.

• Proven ability to govern architecture across projects, platforms, vendors, and delivery teams.

• Experience presenting designs and recommendations to client architecture review boards and senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and govern the overall programme architecture, principles, standards, and design approach.

• Provide enterprise-level oversight across all workstreams and ensure architectural consistency.

• Review designs for scalability, security, integration, operability, and alignment with Microsoft best practices.

• Lead or support strategic platform-selection and technology decisions.

• Provide cross-workstream design assurance and resolve architectural dependencies or conflicts.

• Act as the quality gate for the HLD, LLD, and Migration Approach before submission to client review boards.

• Ensure detailed designs remain aligned with the approved programme architecture.

• Maintain visibility of architecture-related risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies through the programme RAID log.

• Coordinate with business, data, security, application, integration, infrastructure, and delivery stakeholders.

• Guide workstream architects and ensure that architecture decisions are documented and traceable.
